Job summary

AdventHealth in Daytona Beach is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to join the PACU team. The role involves direct patient care across pediatric to geriatric populations, with focus on post-anesthesia recovery and accurate documentation.

You will monitor patients, interpret vital data, communicate with caregivers, and ensure safe, cost-efficient care. Requires RN license, BLS, and 1+ year in a related setting; ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered nurse (RN) with current license.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• 1+ year of critical care or PACU/ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in direct patient care across geriatric, adult, adolescent, and pediatric populations.
• Monitor and interpret patient data; adjust care plans accordingly.
• Communicate patient information to caregivers to ensure continuity of care.
• Document accurately using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Manage and interpret PACU monitoring devices and post-anesthesia care procedures.

Job Description

• Part Time Schedule: 2x 8hr shifts one week, 3x 8hr shifts the next
• Call requirements: 2-3 call shifts per 6-week schedule
• Participates in direct patient care across geriatric, adult, adolescent, and pediatric populations, analyzing and interpreting patient-specific information to assess and reassess individual nursing care plans.
• Demonstrates critical thinking skills when interpreting changes in patients' immediate post-operative conditions.
• Communicates patient information to all appropriate caregivers to ensure effective continuum of care.
• Manages and interprets all patient monitoring devices in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) environment competently.
• Provides accurate, timely documentation, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to deliver competent, effective, cost-efficient patient care.
