Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center, part of the Trinity Health system, seeks an experienced RN for Pre & PACU in orthopedic and spine perioperative care. The role emphasizes independent operation in Preop and PACU, with a focus on ICU-level patient care and critical drips as needed.

The position is full-time, day shift, with 36 hours per week, no weekends or holidays, and includes advancement through the RN Step Program pay range ($36.15–$59.95/hour).

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is required.
• Valid RN license in Connecticut.
• The ideal candidate will have one or more years of inpatient PACU experience supporting inpatient surgical recovery.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality pre-operative and post-anesthesia care for patients undergoing joint and spine surgeries.
• Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments, initiate IVs, and support anesthesia preparation.
• Monitor patients through Phase 1 and 2 recovery, ensuring safe emergence from anesthesia, pain control, and readiness for discharge or inpatient transfer.
