Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Minnesota is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the SMC PACU Surgical Services. The RN coordinates nursing care, provides direct patient care, educates patients and families, and facilitates transitions of care within the Nursing Professional Practice Model.

The role requires a nursing degree and RN license, with at least one year of professional RN experience; ICU/PCU and monitoring/sedation experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program and RN license required.
• One year of professional RN experience required.
• ICU/PCU experience preferred in last 3–5 years.
• Monitoring/Sedation experience preferred in last 3–5 years.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Computer skills required; EMR systems experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care including direct patient care and education.
• Support nursing practice across settings and the continuum of care.
• Provide leadership through preceptor and committee/quality improvement activities.
• Delegate patient care based on skill level, acuity, and resources.
• May be required to drive own vehicle as part of the role.
