Job summary

Lifepoint Health’s Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV seeks a PRN Registered Nurse for PACU to deliver direct patient care in a fast-paced post-anesthesia setting. You will perform nursing assessments, administer medications, and document care while ensuring safety and comfort for patients recovering from anesthesia.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, with a preferred Bachelor’s degree, and licenses to practice in the state. ACLS/PALS within 6 months are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the PACU using the nursing process.
• Administer medications, collect specimens, perform clinical treatments as ordered.
• Document all patient care accurately in the medical record.
• Monitor patient condition and communicate changes to the care team and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and comfort measures.
• Coordinate care with transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support.
• Provide age-appropriate education to patients and families.
• Advocate for the patient’s physical and emotional well‑being.
