Job summary

The University of Rochester Medicine in Rochester, NY is seeking a new graduate registered nurse for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This full-time role supports a fast-paced perioperative team, with the opportunity to work across services such as surgery, urology, ENT, neurosurgery, thoracic, orthopaedic, and anesthesia.

You will work 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts, participate in a nurse onboarding program, and develop direct patient care competencies under the Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

• New graduate RN with less than one year of experience.
• Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, continues to build competency in the provision of direct patient care.
• Poses great communication skills to work among a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• General Purpose: Functions as a new graduate nurse with less than one year of experience. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, continues to build competency in the provision of direct patient care. Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level. Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services.
• FT 8/10/12 hour shifts, DEN position available, self-scheduling.
• The PACU is a fast-paced unit that is responsible for the care of the post operative surgical or procedural patient. New Graduate RNs become a part of a Perioperative collaborative onboarding program. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and poses great communication skills to work among a multidisciplinary team.

Compensation Range
