Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in Anacortes, WA. The PACU RN will care for patients after anesthesia, monitor vitals, and support safe recovery through the awakening process. This role requires WA RN licensure and a minimum of PACU experience.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the state in which RN is working.
• One year PACU experience preferred
• CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse) or CAPA (Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse) certification preferred
• ACLS and PALS certification per contract requirements
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• The PACU RN cares for patients who have undergone anesthesia and monitors recovery.
• Observe and treat patients post-operation, ensuring safe awakening from anesthesia.
• Monitor vital signs and levels of consciousness for sedation reversal and safety.

The post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN cares for patientswho have under gone anesthesia. Thepost-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN is responsible for observing and treating a patient postoperation and making sure that they safely awake fromanesthesia. The post-Anesthesia CareUnit (PACU) RN must monitor vital signs and levels of consciousness to make sure that the sedation is wearing off properly, there are no adverse reactions occurring and patients are regaining consciousness.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current RN licensure in the state in which RN is working.

• One year PACU experience preferred

• CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse) or CAPA (CertifiedAmbulatory Perianesthesia Nurse) certification preferred
