Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is seeking a Registered Nurse PACU to join our team in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. The RN assumes responsibility for nursing care and outcomes for a defined group of patients, delivering care through the nursing process in collaboration with the health team.

The role requires a graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program, NYS RN license, and BLS certification. Preferred qualifications include PACU/ICU experience and ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS training within specified timelines

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
• Active NYS Registered Nurse license.
• BLS Certification required by American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing care and outcomes for a group of patients using the nursing process.
• Administers medication and parenteral therapy per policy, including blood administration.
• Establishes priorities for patient care and coordinates with health care team.
• Provides patient/family education and assists in discharge planning.
• Documents assessments and care accurately and timely.
• Promotes patient safety and quality, adhering to safety goals.
• Communicates effectively with health care team and escalates when needed.
