Job summary

Inova Loudoun Ambulatory Surgery Center in Leesburg, VA, seeks an experienced Pre-Op/PACU RN for full-time work. The role focuses on recovering surgical patients, monitoring vitals, and educating patients post-discharge. Cross-training in PreOp increments flexibility for unit needs.

Requirements include 1+ year PACU/CC nursing in ASC or acute care, Virginia RN license, BLS, and preferred ACLS/PALS within 6 months of hire. Day shifts only.

Qualifications

• One or more years of PACU/Critical Care nursing experience in an ambulatory surgery setting or acute hospital
• Prior PreOp and PostOp experience in an ASC is strongly desired
• Graduate from an accredited nursing institution
• Current licensure in Virginia as a Registered Nurse
• Current BLS certification
• ACLS/PALS certification preferred within six (6) months of date of hire

Responsibilities

• Care for surgical patients as they recover from anesthesia
• Monitor and chart vital signs, such as heart or respiratory rate, blood pressure, or oxygen level
• Comfort patients as they wake; may be required to gently restrain patients
• Check surgical site for excessive bleeding or swelling
• Educate patients on care for the surgical wound or other post-discharge care.
• Cross-train to work in PreOperative area to meet the needs of the unit
