Job summary

KAISER PERMANENTE in San Jose, California, seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager in the PACU to lead care delivery and administrative operations. You will supervise teams, coordinate resources, and ensure regulatory compliance while sustaining high-quality patient care across shifts.

The role requires leadership experience, California RN licensure, and an ability to manage complex hospital operations in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of experience in patient care delivery.
• Associates degree or higher in a Business, Nursing, Health Care, or directly related field AND minimum two (2) years of experience in business operations, clinical health care, or a directly related field OR minimum three (3) years of experience in business operations, clinical health care, or a directly related field.
• Minimum one (1) year of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
• Basic Life Support required at hire
• Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire

Responsibilities

• Recommends developmental opportunities for others; builds collaborative, cross-functional relationships.
• Supervises and coordinates daily activities of designated work team or unit and ensures policies are followed.
• Supervises hospital administrative functions to support patient care, data collection, and regulatory readiness.
• Manages care delivery operations in a 24/7 environment, coordinating resources and emergency preparedness.
• Supervises improvements to operations and technology processes; monitors performance metrics.
• Ensures safe, quality care delivery and compliance with Nursing Practice Act, TJC and regulations.
