Job summary

Mount Sinai West is seeking a Nursing Attendant for the PACU on the evening shift (3pm–11pm). The role supports the Registered Nurse by delivering direct patient care, monitoring vitals, and assisting with activities of daily living.

The position requires completing medical assistant or nursing assistant training, a high school diploma, and potential inpatient experience. Heartsaver CPR certification is preferred; BCLS accepted. Fulfills safety and compassionate care standards across the unit.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completed training as a medical assistant or nursing assistant or equivalent training or experience.
• Prefer relevant experience in an inpatient health care setting.
• American Heart Association Heartsaver Certification required; BCLS is accepted.

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing staff with selected procedures and vital signs.
• Performs activities of daily living and personal care of patients.
• Observes and reports patient data and responses to treatment.
• Transports patients by wheelchair, stretcher or bed and escorts ambulatory patients.
• Maintains a safe environment and assists with admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Keeps equipment ready and ensures a clean, organized area.
