Job summary

Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL seeks a PACU RN to join the Short Stay / Recovery Room team. This full-time role features 4-10 hour shifts, rotating weekend on-call and varied day hours.

Sign-on bonus up to $10,000 is available for qualified candidates. You will deliver postoperative nursing care, coordinate with surgeons and anesthesiologists, and mentor staff while maintaining high standards of care in the PACU.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Critical Care or PACU experience or minimum of one year on the job training.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of patient care through the nursing process in the PACU.
• Coordinate post-operative care with surgeon and anesthesiologist.
• Direct and guide other personnel while maintaining standards of care in the PACU.
• Communicate with physician about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities and unit meetings.
