Job summary

Utz Quality Foods in Hanover, PA is seeking a dedicated Packer to join our manufacturing team at the High Street facility. You will inspect and pack products into boxes and cartons, ensuring quality and accuracy at your station.

You will assist with setup, operate basic packing equipment, and participate in sanitation tasks. Candidates must be able to stand 100% of the shift and lift up to 50 lbs. Fluency in English or Spanish is required.

Responsibilities

• Inspects and packs quality products into boxes, cartons, cans, and specialty containers.

• Moves product from packing area to warehouse using jacks or similar equipment.
• Scans finished product into inventory with scanning equipment.
• Sets up mats and cartons for packing at start of shift.
• Assists with sanitation and keeps packing area clean.

Job description

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team, and are currently recruiting for a Packer to join our team of manufacturing professionals in Hanover, PA at our High Street facility.

As a Packer, this candidate will be responsible for inspecting and packing quality products into boxes, cartons, cans, and specialty containers in a team atmosphere while responsible for their individual station.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspects packaged items and alerts machine operator or shift supervisor of any changes.
• Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.
• Moves product from packing area to warehouse by pulling jacks filled with product.
• Accurately scans finished product into inventory with use of scanning equipment.
• Sets up mats and cartons for packers before production begins each day.
• Prepares packing area when packaging different products.
• Helps relieve for breaks and lunches.
• Must be able to safely maneuver and lift up to 50lbs.
• Understands how to operate the Shrink Wrapper.
• Helps clean floor and equipment in packing room weekly in addition to other Sanitation duties as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Regular lifting (50lbs).
• Ability to bend, stoop, squat, pivot regularly.
• Ability to be trained to be the backup lineperson and packer.
• Ability to be trained to use a hand jack.
