Job summary

Utz Quality Foods in Hanover, PA is seeking a dedicated Packer to join our manufacturing team. You will inspect products, pack them into boxes and cartons, verify codes and weights, and help maintain a clean, safe work environment.

This role requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 40 lbs, and collaborating cross-functionally with colleagues to ensure quality and efficiency. Our team values reliability and commitment to producing top snack products.

Qualifications

• Requires basic math and reading skills.
• Requires knowledge of product quality and production processes.
• Ability to stand 100% of the time.
• Moderate lifting (40lbs).

Responsibilities

• Inspects packaged items and alerts machine operator or shift supervisor of any defects.
• Inspects package weight.
• Verifies code, dates, and price.
• Examines package for proper seal.
• Reports any and all conditions that could lead to contaminated product.
• Packs product into cartons, cans and specialty containers and places them onto skids/conveyors.
• Prepares items for production (cans/labels/trays/rework items).
• Maintains an organized and sanitary work environment at all times following OSHA, FDA and Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

As a Packer, this candidate will be responsible for inspecting and packing quality products into boxes, cartons, cans, and specialty containers in a team atmosphere.
