Job summary

Utz Quality Foods in Hanover, PA is seeking a Packer to join our manufacturing team. The Packer will inspect and pack quality products into boxes, cartons, cans, and specialty containers in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include inspecting items for defects, verifying codes and dates, packing into cartons, and preparing items for production. The role emphasizes a clean, safe work environment and physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Inspects packaged items and alerts operator or supervisor of defects
• Inspects package weight
• Verifies code, dates, and price
• Examines package for proper seal
• Reports conditions that could lead to contaminated product
• Packs products into cartons, cans and specialty containers and places them on skids/conveyors
• Prepares items for production (cans/labels/trays/rework items)
• Maintains an organized, sanitary work area following OSHA, FDA and GMP guidelines
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
• Works proactively in a cross-functional team
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team, and are currently recruiting for a Packer to join our team of manufacturing professionals in Hanover, PA.

As a Packer, this candidate will be responsible for inspecting and packing quality products into boxes, cartons, cans, and specialty containers in a team atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Inspects packaged items and alerts machine operator or shift supervisor of any defects.
  • Inspects package weight.
  • Verifies code, dates, and price.
  • Examines package for proper seal.
• Reports any and all conditions that could lead to contaminated product.
• Packs product into cartons, cans and specialty containers and places them onto skids/conveyors.
• Prepares items for production (cans/labels/trays/rework items).
• Maintains an organized and sanitary work environment at all times following OSHA, FDA and Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• Requires basic math and reading skills.
• Requires knowledge of product quality and production processes.
• Ability to stand 100% of the time.
• Moderate lifting (40lbs).
