Job summary

Utz Quality Foods in Goodyear, AZ is seeking a Packer to contribute to our food production team. You will inspect finished goods, assist the machine operator, and ensure products are properly weighed, coded and labeled for boxing.

The role runs Monday through Friday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with emphasis on safety and sanitation. The Packer will also help train new staff, handle rework as needed, and maintain an organized, clean area supporting our quality standards.

• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Maintain clean and sanitary work area at all times.
• Follow safety and food quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect finished product prior to bagging and package into boxes.
• Verify weight, codes, dates, and price on packages.
• Pack product into cartons, cans, or specialty containers and label accordingly.
• Clean work areas and prepare items for extra production when needed.
• Train new packers and assist in machine setup and rework as required.

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team and is currently recruiting for a Packer to work from our manufacturing facility located in Goodyear, AZ. The Packer is responsible for inspecting finished product prior to being bagged and then placing the bagged product in boxes/cases/displays. The Packer will assist in ensuring the plant environment meets food safety cleanliness objectives and operates according to established safety standards. This position works Monday - Friday from 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspects packaged items and alerts Machine Operator or Shift Supervisor of any problems.
• Verifies package weight, code, dates, and price.
• Examines packages for proper seal.
• Reports any and all conditions that could lead to contaminated product.
• Packs product into cartons, cans, and specialty containers.
• Places carton, can or specialty container onto skid.
• Responsible for training new packers.
• Prepares items when "extra"
• Labels boxes and barrels
• Rework items.
• Cleans work areas.
• Gives breaks and lunches.
• Picks chips in processing room as needed.
• Disassembles packaging machines, clean, and reassemble
• Use cleaning chemicals, brooms, air guns, other tools as needed
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Maintains an organized and sanitary work environment at all times.
