Job Description

Full time Packer Inspector, hourly, Monday evening through Friday evening. Responsible for packing finished product into cartons and ensuring the product meets quality standards as defined in the Product Quality Standard (PQS) form.

Major Areas of Responsibility
  • Obtain empty cartons from conveyor or other sources.
  • Prepare cartons for stack or tumble packed product and place the cartons as necessary.
  • Apply carton labels as defined in DPG Policy #002.
  • Inspect bottles according to DPG policy and the PQS form, based on customer specifications and requirements.
  • Remove full cartons from packing stand or tumble pack area and close the carton following DPG procedure and PQS sheet.
  • Grind all clean scrap and rejected bottles from the machines responsible.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Complete and provide to supervisor all required daily production reports.
  • Immediately notify Process Mechanics and/or supervisor of any discovered or suspected product quality problems or mechanical malfunctions of equipment.
  • Enter production information into Plant Star automated system at the end of shift per DPG policy.
  • Effectively communicate any machine operation or production issues to the Packer/Inspector on the upcoming shift.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities in grinding, re‑inspection and quarantine areas per DPG policies.
  • Maintain all areas around equipment and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
  • Take personal responsibility to become and remain fully qualified per the Job Competencies for the Position of Packer/Inspector.
  • Follow safety guidelines, company policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Good mathematical skills for basic calculations.
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Ability to read task instructions and determine product quality compliance.
  • Ability to make well‑thought‑out decisions and take appropriate action.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment under pressure.
  • Vision correctable to 20/20 for reading work materials and identifying defects; accurate color discrimination.
  • Hearing acuity sufficient to understand spoken instructions in a factory environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
Education and Experience
  • Previous manufacturing environment experience preferred.
  • Plastics industry experience a plus.
Physical Demands
  • Manual dexterity and repetitive use of hands.
  • Ability to talk and hear while performing duties.
  • Work performed indoors.
  • Walk and stand for the majority of the job.
  • Lift 5 lbs continuously; lift and carry up to 55 lbs occasionally.
  • Occasionally bend, squat, reach above shoulder level, turn, twist, pull, and push.
  • Close vision required.
Work Environment

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, forklifts and moderate to moderately loud noise levels.
