Job summary

Griffith Foods Inc. is hiring a Packer on the First Shift for our Custom Culinary production team in Avon, Ohio. The role involves safe operation of packaging equipment, labeling, and palletizing finished goods in accordance with GMP/HACCP and the Griffith Production System.

Overtime may be required, with a starting hourly rate of $17.80. This position requires the ability to read production schedules, perform basic math, lift up to 60 pounds, and work onsite in Avon, OH.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, including following instructions and writing simple correspondence.
• Ability to read production schedules and perform basic math, measurements, and data recording.
• Heavy lifting up to 60 pounds and operation of pallet jack.
• Willingness to work overtime, including Saturdays as needed.
• Onsite work in Avon, OH.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret production schedules to pack finished goods and ensure correct cartons and labels.
• Assemble cartons, apply labels, and pack the correct number of products per carton.
• Set up, operate, and maintain packaging equipment (tapers, code daters).
• Stack cartons on pallets according to configurations.
• Record production and yield data accurately.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work area; dispose of trash.
• Support audit requirements and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

LOCATION: Onsite in Avon, OH

SHIFT & HOURS: Monday thru Friday, 7am- 3:30am EDT(Saturday overtime as needed)

Hiring Hourly Rate: $17.80/hr.

Custom Culinary, a subsidiary of Griffith Foods, is hiring aPackerto join our Production Team. The Packer is responsible for the safe operation of the set-up, operation, adjustment, and clean-up of packaging equipment to ensure product is packed, labeled & palletized in accordance with company quality, safety, and regulatory standards Good Manufacturing Practice(GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point(HACCP), and Griffith Production System(GPS).

As a Packer your responsibilities will include:

• Read and interpret production schedules to pack finished goods accurately, ensuring correct cartons and labels are used
• Assemble cartons, apply labels, and pack the correct number of products into each carton
• Set up,operate, andmaintainpackaging equipment such as tapers and code daters
• Stack cartons on pallets according to required configurations
• Accurately record production and yield data
• Cleaning and sanitizing the production equipment and tools, including the workarea.
• Disposal of trash and garbage containers.
• Support audit requirements andmaintaina clean, safe work environment

Qualified candidates will have:

• Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to60pounds throughout the shift andoperatean electric pallet jack.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, including the ability to read andcomprehendinstructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; and the ability to communicate with individuals and small groups.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Working knowledge or the ability to gain knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning.
• Willingness & ability to work overtime, as needed, throughout the week, up to and including Saturday work.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods during the shift.
• Comfortable working with and around allergens and cleaning chemicals.

Candidates must currently be at least 18 years of age AND possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee isfrequentlyrequired to sit,stand,and walk to communicate and listen effectively. This will require both office and plant floor environments. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. The employee will occasionally need tooperateand drive a forklift or electronic pallet jack to transport materials or goods.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.The employee is occasionally exposed to wet,coldand/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.Dust and odor are present in the environment.
