Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking a manufacturing associate to join our packaging operations. You will promote safety, maintain quality, and run equipment on a production line in a fast-paced environment.

You will perform duties such as packing, operating a punch, loading conveyors and flamers, and maintaining housekeeping on the line according to standard procedures. The role emphasizes safety and teamwork within the factory setting.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment.
• Follow Silgan safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers.
• Monitor ware for quality defects and promptly inform the operator and/or coordinator.
• Pack at standard rate.
• Operate a punch.
• Load conveyors and flamers.
• Practice housekeeping on assigned line(s) and around machine, including mopping if necessary.
• Remove scrap from around the line.
• Grind and pull plastic as needed.
• Make and unitize cartons as assigned.
• Initial and date box labels.
• Make out unit tickets.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
