Job summary

Heartland Food Products Group is seeking a Packer for the 1st shift at our on-site Indianapolis, IN Distribution Center. The role focuses on packaging finished products per specifications and palletizing for shipment.

Responsibilities include ensuring product quality, counting and recording items, and maintaining safety and cleanliness on the line. Strong English communication and teamwork are essential, with occasional overtime and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and adheres to safety rules and signage; follows Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Picks finished product from the line and places into display trays or cartons.
• Examine finished product to ensure packing specs are met, date code is applied, and no leaks.
• Communicate with management regarding any finished goods quality issues on the line.
• Construct/assemble display items or trays by folding or erecting cardboard to meet specifications.
• Accurately count and record products and materials.
• Seal finished cartons and place on pallet as defined by Manufacturing Specification using equipment.
• Transport completed pallets to staging area using pallet jacks.
• Assist in changeovers and clean the work area with cleaning solutions.
• All other duties as assigned.

This role is not a remote opportunity, it is on-site at our Distribution Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Scope:

The Packer works with the finished product and ensures that all finished product conforms to the highest quality standard, is packaged per the manufacturing specification, and is palletized in the proper manner.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

• Seal finished cartons and place on pallet as defined by Manufacturing Specification using equipment.
• Transport completed pallets to staging area using pallets jacks.
• Assist in changeovers and utilizing work stoppages by cleaning work area using cleaning solutions.
• All other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
• Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend
• Must be able to work extended hours while standing
• Continuous walking throughout plant and distribution center
