Job summary

Amcor Flexibles, LLC is hiring a Packer in Shelbyville, KY. You will assist line operations, handle changeovers, start-ups, running and shutdowns while upholding safety and product specs.

The role includes paperwork, quality checks, and teamwork to minimize downtime, with a focus on maintaining clean workstations and following SOPs. The position offers 12‑hour shifts (Mon-Thu, with possible Fridays), competitive hourly pay with a night shift premium, overtime, and a strong benefits package

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Read, understand, and follow customer specifications.
• Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills to complete tasks in operator software.
• Ability to perform visual inspection and distinguish colors.

Responsibilities

• Packers assist in operation of lines including changeovers, moving material, quality checks and packing product.
• Support operations in becoming World Class with emphasis on safety.
• Adhere to customer and manufacturing specifications and SOPs.
• Complete paperwork such as job verification sheets, QA checks, roll tickets and SOC sheets.
• Work with crew to minimize changeovers and downtime.
• Know and understand the role in product safety.
• Keep a clean and orderly workstation.
• Follow 5S and WCM initiatives; cross training and other duties as assigned.

Based on which machine you are assigned to, you will assist with line operations, including changeovers, start-ups, running, and shutdown, while prioritizing safety and compliance with specifications.

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts
• Mon-Thursday (6:45-7:00) AM/PM
• Some mandatory Fridays based on business needs

What you'll do:

• Packers assist in aspects of operation of lines including changeovers, moving material, quality checks and packing product.
• Support operations in becoming World Class in all aspects of the business, beginning with Safety.
• Adhere to customer specification, manufacturing specification, and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure all appropriate paperwork is filled out accurately and completely. This includes, but is not limited to, job verification sheets, QA checks, roll tickets (all flags are recorded), S.O.C sheets and all others as assigned.
• Work with crew to minimize job change-over and down time.
• While also knowing and understanding the role in product safety.
• Keep a clean and orderly work station.
• Comply with all 5S and WCM initiatives (Cross Training, moving to the work).
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

• Required to have visual acuity to perform visual inspection including the use of measurement devices and ability to identify and distinguish colors
