Job summary

Faerch Group in Portage, IN is seeking an entry-level inspector/packer to perform initial inspection and packing of plastic molded parts produced by thermoforming machines, following operator instructions and customer specifications.

You will chart SPC readings, communicate quality and safety information with supervisors and co-workers, and perform secondary operations when required. Maintain a clean, safe work area and complete all paperwork, adhering to Food Safety Management Systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspects molded parts per Operator Instructions.
• Packages finished product in accordance with customer and plant specifications.
• Communicates efficiently and accurately with Supervisor, Inspectors and co-workers concerning all relative quality, production, and safety information.
• Perform any secondary operations required.
• Take and chart SPC readings as required.
• Detects improper operation of the injection molding machine and takes corrective action by notifying the Supervisor.
• Performs assigned finishing and re-work operations, when required.
• Responsible for clean, organized, and safe work area. The work area includes the molding machines, the operator station and the area surrounding the molding machines.
• Complete all paperwork as required.
• Observes company policies and safety regulations.
• Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements. Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Food Safety Management Systems.
• Observes safety and security procedures, including maintaining confidentially, using equipment / materials properly, reporting potentially unsafe conditions, and acting upon appropriate actions.
• Supports Company’s policies and procedures and conducts departmental and Company activities in accordance with these policies.

Summary: Responsible for initial inspection and packing of plastic molded parts produced from various types and sizes of Thermoforming machines by performing the following duties.
