Job summary

Medix Biochemica is seeking a Packaging Technician LV 2 to handle filling and pooling of products for stock and customer orders. The role requires working in a packaging department with strict recording of batch records and lab notebooks.

Responsibilities include stocking packaging materials, communicating department priorities, and leading pooling projects with cross‑functional support. The candidate should be able to perform minor product testing and ensure safety protocols are followed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in science or related field.
• Three to four years related experience or training.
• Ability to perform lab-based packaging operations with accuracy.

Packaging Technician LV 2

Department: Packaging

Reports To: Materials Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Employee Type: Full-Time

Hours: 40 hours/week
Monday - Friday
8:00 am – 5:00 pm (30 minutes for lunch and 30 minutes for a break)

Note: Nights and weekends can be approved by manager.

Summary

Handle, fill, and pool products to specified quantities for stock and customer orders

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform filling operations of liquid or powder products into various containers, ensuring accuracy and consistency, for finished inventory, customer orders and internal use.
• Ensure that all packaging vials and bottles are stocked and ordered as needed.
• Communicate within the department of priorities and delays
• Assures that all work is properly recorded and signed off in lab notebooks, batch records, worksheets, or other appropriate documents.
• Identify equipment/tools that can improve the packaging department as a whole
• Lead key pooling projects at scales that exceed standard pool volumes with support from manufacturing and other groups as needed.
• Conduct minor product testing such as pH, conductivity, and others as needed
• Complete inventory pulls and counts when needed
• Act as subject matter expert for product fills, pools, and other related tasks as needed
• Continually work to improve the packaging department and logistics as a whole.
• Follow all safety protocols.

Education/Experience

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in the field of science from an accredited college or university; or three-four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The employee may be required to wear gloves, gowns, hairnets and other clothing in order to protect product integrity.

Ability to record actions and notations to ensure full traceability of product. This individual needs to be able to openly communicate with the Logistics Department on a day-to-day basis.

Math Ability

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals (simple amounts such percentages, volumes and conversion factors).
