Job summary

Silgan is hiring an Operator Assistant at its Fort Smith, Arkansas plant. You will package WIP and finished product from printing lines, operate the scoring machine, and report any non-conformances to the operator.

The job requires lifting up to 50 pounds, standing on concrete during 12-hour shifts, and working in a heat-intensive non-temperature controlled environment. Education preferred is a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Additional training requirements are identified and arrangements for the training made when needed.

Responsibilities

• Packages WIP and finished product from RTF and/or Printing lines.
• Runs the scoring machine.
• Reports any non-conformances noted during packing to the operator.
• Reworks nonconforming product in accordance with documented work instructions.
• Responsible for food safety by performing checks to maintain quality standards.
• Works 12-hour shifts standing on concrete.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis throughout 12-hour shift.
• Go up steps periodically throughout the day.
• Work in the heat (This is a Non-temperature controlled environment).
• Performs other designated duties as assigned.
• Conducts duties according to plant safety policies and procedures.
• Schedule: Rotational with every other weekend off
