Duties

The Packaging Specialist (TDT) plays a critical role within Diageo's North American Innovation & Brand Change team, supporting the successful execution of innovation, renovation, and brand change initiatives from concept through market launch. This role is responsible for developing and managing packaging component specifications, supporting packaging testing and validation activities, and collaborating with cross functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, in full, within budget, and aligned with quality and cost objectives. Serving as a key link between Technical, Supply Chain, Marketing, Procurement, Operations, and external suppliers, the role ensures packaging specifications are accurate and fit for purpose while protecting brand integrity and supporting manufacturing excellence. All contractors also receive individual coaching and training from their immediate manager and cross-functional mentor. You will be encouraged to perform to our high standards and are given the same kind of performance feedback we give our full-time employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work directly with suppliers and vendors to communicate requirements and resolve technical issues.
  • Support specification workflow approvals and maintain effective communication throughout project lifecycles.
  • Partner with project managers and cross functional teams to ensure packaging deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Develop and execute packaging testing plans based on project requirements and recommend packaging improvements and risk mitigation strategies based on test outcomes.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy and accountability.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.

Education
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging Engineering, Packaging Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
