Job description

OVERVIEW

The function of the Packaging Team Manager is to provide necessary technical support and leadership, to direct, facilitate, and coordinate the performance, development, and improvement of the overall operation. This position has the responsibility of establishing/maintaining a capable, continuously improving, high quality work force with focus on improving plant equipment reliability, quality, process, and efficiency at the lowest sustainable cost.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages and leads a team of supervisors to deliver quality and quantity of production to meet demand.
  • Directs and manages the Maintenance and Production resources to meet and exceed all safety, health and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure the development of sound predictive and preventative maintenance programs which will reduce unplanned shut downs and continuously improve plant reliability, profitability and product quality.
  • Partners with support functions (i.e. Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, etc.) to meet production demands
  • Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices
  • Compiles, analyzes, stores, and retrieves production data.
  • Drives Continuous Improvement initiatives within the Packaging department
WORK EXPERIENCES
  • Experience in a technical role required (maintenance, engineering and/or operations), preferably in a federally regulated manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related management experience, including overseeing supervisors and managing a multi-departmental manufacturing/ production operation.
  • Food or beverage production experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience designing and driving process improvement in a food (or similar) manufacturing environment
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from a 4-year college or university in Engineering, or similar field required.
  • Continuous Improvement or quality certification(s) strongly preferred.

Salary Range: $104,500-$194,500

  • The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
