Job summary

Teva is hiring a Packaging Operator in Edison, NJ to run packaging lines and ensure cGMP compliance. The role requires 1–2 years in an FDA-regulated packaging environment, with proficiency in operating multiple packaging machines and following SOPs.

You will maintain safety, complete documentation, and support line changeovers while working with a union team on all shifts. English literacy and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-2 years’ experience in FDA regulated packaging environment.
• Proficient in navigating HMI screens for packaging equipment (Tablet/Capsule Filler, Cottoner, Capper, Desiccant Inserter, Checkweigher, Labeler, Case Former, Pallet Jack).
• Able to assist Packaging Technicians during line changeovers.
• Capable of working extended hours and maintaining focus under challenging conditions.
• Basic math skills related to packaging order start-up and completion.
• Knowledge of aggregation processes on packaging lines.
• Able to respond to equipment alarms and assess potential product impact.
• Commitment to safety, EHS and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment per PPE, safety, and EHS standards.
• Execute packaging operations according to SOPs and approved documentation.
• Respond to alarms and troubleshoot packaging process issues.
• Perform equipment cleaning, change parts, and line clearance activities.
• Complete documentation including logbooks, batch records, and verification checks.
• Stage and transfer packaging materials and bulk products as needed.
• Verify components and bulk product against batch records and protocols.
• Stack finished goods cases on pallets and transfer to warehouse.
• Operate palletizer and pallet jack safely.
• Remove unused materials to designated areas and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Communicate effectively with team to resolve issues and maintain workflow.
• Possible training/mentoring of other Material Handlers and Packaging Operators.
