Lignetics, INC. is hiring a Packaging Operator for a full-time night shift in Warren County, Youngsville. The role involves running bagging and baler equipment, wrapping pallets, and supporting pellet production processes.

Salary starts at $17.00/hour with a $2.00/hour shift differential. Training begins on the first shift for two weeks, and a pre-employment background check and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.
• Good eye, hand, and foot coordination.
• Must pass company forklift training.
• Read and interpret scales.
• Mechanical aptitude to adjust baler/maintenance.
• English proficiency to read safety commands and manuals.
• Able to report malfunctions clearly in English.

Responsibilities

Packaging Operator

Salary: $17.00/hour plus $2.00/hour shift differential

Shift: Monday to Friday - 10pm to 6am (training for 2 weeks on first shift 6am-2pm)

Packaging Operator Responsibilities

• The packaging operator is required to perform two functions: the bagging operation and the baler operation. The packaging operator must maintain the ability to perform both bagging and baler functions as determined by the Shift Leads
• Operate machinery in a productive manner using the established safety guidelines and procedures.
• Responsible for assisting other production areas, as needed.
• Move and wrap completed products.
• Will be lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for a minimum of 7 hours per day
• Assist the Shift Leads to start and stop the pellet mills.
• Communicate any moisture or material problems to Shift Lead.
• Maintain a clean workstation.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Bagging Operation

• Responsible for operating a variety of machinery, primarily bagging and baler machines, shrink wrapping machines, forklifts, pallet jack, and bag sealer.
• Stacking bags on pallets, putting covers on pallets and placing finished goods in the correct warehouse location.
• Position requires accurate completion of the Bagger production report, filling pellet sample cups every ton for quality control information, and tagging pallet with Quality Control tag with initials, date, ton number, and the shift the pallet was completed.

The Baler Operation

• Stacking bales on pallets, sealing bales with an iron, and wrapping pallets.
• Position requires accurate completion of the Baler Operator production report, checking bale weight, and recording information on various reports and quality control tags.

Packaging Operator Qualifications/Education

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.
• Will require good eye, hand, and foot coordination.
• Will need to pass the company forklift training.
• Required to read and interpret scales.
• Requires mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to adjust the weight and timing of baler and various other simple maintenance problems.
• Ability to immediately understand and react to verbal safety commands, audio alarms, and written hazard alerts in English in a Manufacturing setting.
• Proficient in English to accurately read, interpret, and execute equipment lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols and machine operation manuals.
• Sufficient English verbal skills to clearly and instantly report machine malfunctions, near-misses, or unsafe floor conditions to supervisors and team members.
• This role operates in the immediate vicinity of fast-moving, heavy automated equipment. Clear, real-time communication and strict adherence to English-language safety signage are mandatory for workplace safety.
