Job summary

Lesaffre in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Packaging Operator to ensure that dried product from spray dryers meets all specifications and to uphold Safety, Quality and Food Safety procedures.

The role oversees up to 2 packaging lines, reports to the Supervisor, and follows a 6 AM–6 PM rotational schedule. Duties include operating the line safely, sanitation, QA checks, and supporting other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or 3 years minimum experience in a similar position.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and operate forklift.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety, GMP, food safety, and other rules or policies.
• Operate packing line safely and efficiently.
• Inspect dryer infrastructure and notify maintenance when needed.
• Monitor quality controls and record data.
• Cover shifts and train in other departments as needed.
