Job summary

AbbVie in Cincinnati is seeking a packaging technician to operate final manual packaging equipment, perform product inspections, and handle packaging materials and tablets under minimal supervision. You will also help with cleaning of the area and equipment.

Responsibilities include documenting tasks, correctly identifying containers and products, following cGMP and company policies, keeping the area safe and organized, and assisting the production coordinator as needed.

Qualifications

• Know and apply security rules, cGMPs, and company policies.
• High School Diploma or Technical Degree.
• No prior experience is required, although it is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Describe the tasks performed and maintain documentation.
• Identify containers, products, and areas accurately.
• Follow safety rules and GMP guidelines in daily work.
• Keep the work area clean, organized and compliant with GMPs.
• Follow packaging instructions and procedures, including safety and handling.
• Support quality, productivity and efficiency of packaging processes.
• Assist the production coordinator when needed.
• Manage receipt, verification and use of packaging materials and tablets.
• Assist in feeding materials to packaging equipment during packing.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor or coordinator.

Purpose

Describe the primary goals, objectives or functions or outputs of this position.

Under minimal supervision of the packing supervisor and / or production coordinator, performs operations of the final manual packaging equipment, product inspections, and handling of packaging material and tablets. In addition, the incumbent performs the cleaning process of the area and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the correct documentation of the tasks performed.
• Responsible for properly identifying containers, products, and areas
• Know and apply the security rules, cGMP's, and company policies
• Keep the area clean and organized, so that the employee can work in a safe environment and in compliance with GMPs
• Responsible for following the instructions of the packing batch and related procedures; including safety, proper handling, identification, and process.
• Responsible for the quality, productivity, and efficiency of the packaging processes assigned.
• Assist the production coordinator when necessary.
• Responsible for the receipt, verification, and use of packaging material and tablets.
• Assist in the feeding of materials to the packing equipment during the packing process.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor and / or coordinator
