Job summary

Amneal is seeking a Packaging Operator I for the 2nd shift (3:30pm–12:00am, Mon–Fri) in its Brookhaven, NY facility. The role ensures compliant packaging per Batch Records, SOPs, and cGMP safety standards.

You will log batch data, perform in-process QC, and verify equipment calibration while maintaining a clean, organized packaging room. Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, less than one year in pharmaceutical packaging, and an OSHA Respirator Fit Test.

Qualifications

• Less than one year experience in Pharmaceutical Packaging/Manufacturing.
• OSHA-compliant Respirator Fit Test required.

Responsibilities

• Carries out packaging operations in strict compliance with cGMP, SOPs, environmental and safety regulations, and other applicable guidelines.
• Handles disposal of rejected products and packaging components per procedures and safety guidelines.
• Inspects and verifies bulk product and packaging components prior to entry into the packaging room and keeps the area clean and prepared.
• Maintains accurate logbook entries before and after each batch operation.
• Performs in-process quality control checks and documents results in the Packaging Batch Record.
• Verifies the accuracy of scales and balances and ensures equipment calibration before packaging operations.

Packaging Operator I is an entry-level role within the packaging department, responsible for the safe and efficient operation of packaging equipment. This position ensures in-process products are packaged in accordance with the Packaging Batch Record, while strictly adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining full compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) throughout all operations.

Schedule

2nd Shift 3:30pm - 12:00am Monday to Friday

Essential Functions

• Carries out packaging operations in strict compliance with cGMP, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), environmental and safety regulations, and other applicable guidelines. Consistently uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follows all gowning and safety protocols.
• Handles the disposal of rejected products and packaging components in designated disposal areas, in accordance with company procedures and safety guidelines.
• Inspects and verifies bulk product and packaging components prior to their entry into the packaging room. Ensures the packaging line and room are clean, well-organized, and properly prepared for packaging operations.
• Maintains accurate logbook entries by recording relevant information before and after each batch operation.
• Performs in-process quality control checks during packaging operations and accurately documents the results in the Packaging Batch Record.
• Verifies the accuracy of scales and balances by performing weight checks and ensures all equipment is within calibration status prior to initiating packaging operations.

• Performs other functions as required or assigned.
• Complies with all company policies and standards.
• Flexible to work extended hours and weekends when required.

Additional Requirement

This position requires successful completion of an OSHA-compliant Respirator Fit Test.

The hourly base salary for this position ranges from $18.00 to $22.00 per hour. Amneal ranges reflect the Company’s good faith estimate of base salary that Amneal reasonably believes that it will pay for said position at the time of the posting.
