Job summary

Kraft Heinz is seeking a Packaging/Utility operator at the Garland Plant to operate and rotate on multiple packaging lines, ensure adherence to safety and GMP policies, and assist with equipment changeovers. You will monitor performance, clear jams, and support line efficiency.

The role requires reading comprehension, basic math, and a high school diploma or GED. Training will cover HACCP, LO/TO, and environmental compliance in a fast-paced food manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned packaging equipment per specifications and safety requirements.
  • Assist in product changeovers and rotate to primary packaging equipment.
  • Keep work area clean and adhere to GMPs and LO/TO safety policies.
  • Monitor machine performance and respond to faults to maximize uptime.
  • Report hazards or losses and maintain safe working conditions.

  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
  • Includes - Utility Operators, Supply/Relief, Scale Operator, Slicer Operator, Casepacker, Cheese Harp Operator, and Tray Denester
  • Responsible for proper operation of assigned equipment in manufacturing Lunchables according to packaging specifications, finished product specifications, and all safety requirements. This includes getting supplies, loading supplies, operating machines, clearing jams and restarting machine, and monitoring machine performance.
  • Will be trained and rotate to primary packaging equipment.
  • Operate by the HACCP plans for the product line.Maintain a clean work area, adhere to all GMP’s and safety policies such as LO/TO and Personal Protective Equipment
  • This person has the responsibility to operate under the Kraft Heinz Safety Values.
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental policies, procedures and compliance programs.
  • Work toward achieving an injury free environment.
  • Responsible for reviewing work areas for potential losses and loss control opportunities and for reporting hazards, injuries/illnesses, and other losses to Line Leads.
  • Effectively utilize HMI display and make minor adjustments per SKU needs
  • Detect when adjustments are required based on machine observations and performance, responding to machine faults promptly and correctly for maximum machine up time. Effectively communicate electrical and mechanical problems. Detect supply problems and machine problems and properly respond.
  • Assist in product changeovers on the line. This includes mechanical changeovers on each individual piece of equipment.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The work environment is cold 38-42 degrees.
