MilliporeSigma in the United States is hiring a Packaging Operator 2 to manually and semi-automatically portion chemicals into containers, maintain equipment, and uphold GDP traceability in a strict GMP manufacturing setting.
You will work Monday to Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, handle hazardous and non-hazardous materials, calibrate dispensing systems, load materials, and support QA testing while following safety protocols. Benefits include health insurance and PTO.

At MilliporeSigma, the Packaging Operator 2 will manually and semi-automatically portion chemicals into containers using safety equipment and following protocols.Maintain equipment, tools, and facilities in safe, clean environmentMaintain records using Good Documentation Principles (GDP) for accountability and procedure traceabilityAssemble containers and components for portioning processAssemble, disassemble semiautomatic powder or liquid dispensing equipment, and replace worn or disposable parts as necessaryCheck and update mainframe systems and SAP aRestock all materials storage areasCompare chemical characteristics to the expected values and appearancesFormulate and/or condition chemical to consistency and specificationPortion chemicals into containers under safe production conditionsLoad chemical into dispensing system and conduct calibration and QA testsDiscard bulk chemical residues, disposable equipment, cleaning materials required by UOP and SDS of chemicalProcess hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals into containersMonitor processing for proper contents and stage for movement to shippingConduct housekeeping tasks (including disinfection and autoclaving)Perform inventory checks throughout the process of materials and productsInspect for and document all damaged labelsEnsure accountability of the accuracy of actions performedHold exemplary attendance and follows adherence to scheduleFollow-up on inventory shortagesFollow all quality, safety, and operations training proceduresImmediately report any situation that could compromise safety or qualityLabel and over pack bottles of chemical for transportationLabel bottles of hazardous/non-hazardous chemicalsMove materials into departmentServe on committees to improve department, site or company performance. Committees may focus on safety, quality, inventory, output, costs, etc.Participate in testing and implementation of changesSuggest ideas for process improvementPulls samples for customers and/or quality control Set-up, operate, and troubleshoot all weighing equipmentSet-up and calibrate equipment for operation and testing to specifications
Shift: Monday - Friday 7AM - 3:30PM
Physical Attributes:Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirator, gloves, goggles, steel toe shoes, chemical resistant suit, masks, etc.Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications:1+ year experience in a GMP manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, or packaging roleKnowledge in SAP or other inventory tracking systemSkilled in documenting based on Good Documentation Principles (GDP)Associates Degree in Chemistry6+ months previous experience weighing chemicals Pay Range for this position: $22 - $37 / hourThe offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
