Job summary

Barchemy LLC in Donora, PA is seeking a Food Manufacturing Packager to operate a variety of packaging equipment, including automated belts, scale systems, and robotics, to prepare finished goods for shipment.

You will follow GMPs, SOPs, and safety guidelines, conduct quality checks, input data, palletize, label, and maintain a clean, food-safe work area to support continuous production. Flexibility and teamwork are essential to meet daily goals.

Responsibilities

• Conduct metal detector checks every two hours.
• Assemble boxes, insert liners, and tape finished goods.
• Verify scales, weights, and proper labeling on each box.
• Palletize boxes and select correct pallet type per requirements.
• Maintain product flow and packaging pace for continuous production.
• Communicate packaging needs via radios across departments.
• Identify and report when production volume may not meet daily goals.
• Record all boxes of finished goods and document quality checks.
• Minimize waste and place rework in designated areas.
• Maintain a clean, food-safe work environment.

Food Manufacturing Packager

Packaging operators work with a variety of different equipment ranging from automated belts and scale systems to robotics for stacking finished goods.

Main Responsibilities

• Follow good manufacturing practices to ensure the quality of the product.
• Adhere to occupational health and safety guidelines.
• Understanding and following standard operating procedures (SOP).
• Operating packaging equipment.
• Conduct metal detector checks every two hours.
• Erecting boxes and inserting liners.
• Inputting filled boxes through tape machine & verifying every box is clean and properly coded/labeled.
• Verify scales are operating properly, identifying product weight.
• Palletizing boxes.Stacking boxes in the proper pattern and choosing the correct type of pallet based on customer requirements.
• Maintaining product flow.
• Packaging the product at a pace allows for continuous production.
• Using radios to communicate any packaging needs from each department.
• Identifying when the production volume will not meet or exceed daily production goals and alert the necessary staff to correct.
• Adhering to Barchemy’s paperwork policy.
• Conduction pre and post operation checklist.
• Recording all boxes of finished goods.
• Documenting quality checks done throughout each shift.
• Minimizing waste by limiting the amount of product falling to the floor.
• Placing any rework in the designated rework storge area.
• Maintaining a clean food safe environment.
