Job summary

ASR Group in Crockett, CA seeks a Packaging Mechanic to keep packaging and palletizing equipment in excellent running condition. You will report to the Packaging Maintenance Supervisor and perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs in a team-focused environment.

• Collaborate with team members, prioritizing critical repairs and working in a team-based environment.
• Ensure safety and good manufacturing practices are followed.
• Keep working areas clean during and after repairs.

OVERVIEW

The Packaging Mechanic works under the direction of Packaging Maintenance Supervisor to ensure packaging and palletizing equipment in their assigned area is maintained in excellent running condition.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for providing maintenance services through the packaging areas.
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on packaging and palletizing equipment.
• Perform routine corrective maintenance services, including mechanical, rigging, metal fabrication, welding, cutting, drilling, and basic to intermediate electrical repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance services, including cleaning and lubrication on mechanical equipment, time-based maintenance, and inspections.

• Ensures working areas are kept clean during and after repairs are made.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ability to work overtime, rotating shifts and weekends on a regular basis
• Have a high regard and ownership for personal safety and the safety of others.
• Ability to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as protective clothing, safety glasses/goggles, steel-toed boots, etc.
• Ability to work as part of a team. Effectively communicate within the maintenance team and with operators.
• This position requires the flexibility to work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and overtime as needed. Weekend shifts may be mandated based on business needs.
• Positions require standing and walking 8-12+ hours per day, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, ability to grasp, push, and pull.
• Reliable and predictable attendance is required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• At least 2 years of experience in industrial, packaging, or manufacturing maintenance.

HOURLY RATE

• $43.14 per hour
