American Wood Fibers, Inc. is seeking a Packaging Machine Operator for the 3rd shift at our Marshall, Texas facility.

You will work safely and efficiently to maximize hands-on production and shipping of wood shavings, following quality standards and supervisor directions. Responsibilities include operating equipment, maintaining clean work areas, wearing PPE, attending safety meetings, and performing outdoor duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Physically capable of bending, squatting, or stooping.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend monthly safety meetings.
• Wear PPE as required.
• Attend trainings and complete tests.
• Operate equipment to produce packaged materials.
• Assist with cleanup of work area.
• Place and seal bags, palletize up to 40 lbs.
• Perform outdoor duties (sweeping, etc.).
• Maintain quality assurance measures.

American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 400+ employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the 3rdShift Packaging Machine Operator(Squeeze Pack Operator)role at ourMarshall, TXfacility.

JOB SUMMARY

The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for working in a safe, efficient manner to maximize hands-on production and shipping of wood shavings.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• SAFETY
• Attend monthly safety meetings
• Wear PPE as required
• Attend trainings as needed and complete required testing with sufficient results
• PRODUCTION
• Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner producing packaged materials for AWF customers
• Confers with shift supervisor and follows through with assigned work duties
• Assist with cleaning up work area
• Place an empty bag on the fill tube, seal, place in master pack, and hand palletize (up to 40 lbs.)
• OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES
• Perform outside duties to include sweeping, picking up debris, watering flowers and shrubbery, shoveling snow, and deicing walkways as required
• QUALITY
• Maintain and verify that all current quality assurance measures are being followed and communicated

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Physical capability to bend, squat, or stoop
• Previous mobile equipment and/or forklift preferred

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly
• Ability to respond quickly to sounds
• Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
• Ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
• Ability to work in extreme weather
• Be able to climb stairs and/or ladder to the stacking station areas
• Ability to wear personal protective gear correctly
• Candidate MUST be able to work in a smoke-free environment
