Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Florida is seeking production technicians for 2nd and 3rd shift. Starting pay is $21.56 per hour. You will operate and adjust converting equipment, follow safety procedures, read orders, and support setup and quality checks.

You will learn to use guards and PPE, perform first-piece checks, communicate issues, and help with cleanup. This role offers hands-on training, health benefits, PTO, holidays, and opportunities for growth within Smurfit Westrock.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret basic instructions, safety requirements, and Factory Orders.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Mechanical aptitude to assist with machine setup and observe proper equipment operation.
• Understanding of safe work practices in a manufacturing environment, including PPE use and awareness of moving equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read and apply safety instructions and factory orders.
• Assist in equipment setup and adjustments.
• Perform quality checks (first piece, in‑run, ink color/viscosity).
• Shut down the machine and notify a supervisor for major issues.
• Communicate effectively using control buttons and hand signals.
