Job summary

Saputo is seeking a Line Attendant for the Tulare plant to ensure accurate records, proper packaging, and strict adherence to GMP and safety regulations.

You will setup equipment, verify codes and labels, and perform quality checks while documenting pallet tickets and maintaining clean work areas. This role requires attention to detail, physical endurance, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer experience is helpful
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, and squat for several minutes at a time
  • Must be able to stand for at least a two-hour period
  • Must be able to lift up to eighty pounds
  • Must be able to enter into confined spaces
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear
  • Stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perceptions and focus adjustment

Responsibilities

  • Report issues to Supervisor on duty pertaining to personnel, GMP, quality and safety.
  • Set up all equipment and supplies (e.g., Hayssens, metal detector, scale, glue machines).
  • Generate and document computer pallet tickets.
  • Verify codes, labels, and packaging.
  • Ensure correct cheese and vats are packed per specifications.
  • Read computer printouts and follow schedule.
  • Communicate changes and duties during work rotation.
  • Perform quality checks on film, dates, metal detectors, and tare weight.
  • Take product samples to lab for testing purposes.
  • Maintain department documentation and clean work area
  • Comply with GMPs and safety requirements

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Line Attendant is responsible for accurate records and production identification; maintenance and efficiency of the packaging of cheese. Always adheres to all USDA, GMP, and safety regulations.

What You’ll Do at Saputo
  • Will report issues/concerns to Supervisor on duty pertaining to personnel, GMP, quality and safety
  • Setup all equipment and supplies - this includes but not limited to Hayssens, metal detector, automated tail-off equipment, scales, glue machines.
  • Responsible for generating and documentation of computer pallet tickets
  • Will check and verify all codes, labels, and packaging
  • Will verify that correct cheese and vats are being packed within specifications
  • Responsible for reading computer print outs and following a designated scheduled
  • Will ensure communication of product changeovers, products to run before and after changeovers, and duties based on workstation rotation to fellow employees
  • Will complete quality checks on film and code dates, metal detectors, product boxes, and use of tare weight and correct lot number usage
  • Responsible for taking product samples to lab for testing purposes
  • Responsible for all department documentation
  • Ability to work in a safe and sanitary manner in compliance with GMP's
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly and neat work area
  • Respect Physical Demands of job listed in "Physical Demands" section below.
  • Attendance at work is an essential job duty. Job requires regular attendance and work to be performed at the Tulare-Levin plant site.

Hourly Range: $26.31-$31.05
