Job summary

Tandem Foods is expanding our Omega facility with the launch of the new SL6 line and is seeking a Packaging Lead to coordinate daily packaging activities. This role reports to the Production Supervisor and provides day-to-day leadership to the packaging team to meet safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Responsibilities include directing employees, ensuring timely work, maintaining records, and coordinating schedules while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily packaging activities with the Production Supervisor, Machine Operators, and production employees to support efficient production and packaging of finished products.
• Provide daily direction to employees and ensure assigned work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to established procedures.
• Monitor employees during production activities to ensure adherence to safety requirements, company policies, and established work practices.
• Monitor manufacturing and packaging equipment for safety and functionality and communicate equipment concerns as appropriate.
• Ensure finished products meet established quality and production standards before being released for use or distribution.
• Motivate and support employees to improve productivity while maintaining established safety and quality standards.
• Maintain records related to employee performance, equipment, deliveries, supplies, and other required production information.
• Coordinate employee work schedules and monitor attendance and punctuality.
• Serve as a communication link between production employees and management to promote effective communication and teamwork.
• Support the development and execution of production schedules to ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
• Ensure required materials and supplies are available to support scheduled production activities.
• Report safety incidents occurring within the assigned area and promote safe work practices among employees.
• Ensure compliance with applicable BRC, HACCP, GMP, FDA, and USDA food safety and quality requirements.
• Ensure employees follow established hygiene, environmental, health, and safety requirements.
• Maintain appropriate hygiene standards within the assigned area in accordance with regulatory, company, and customer requirements.
• Support continuous improvement efforts and incorporate feedback from production management to improve performance and operational effectiveness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Tandem Foods is expanding operations at our Omega facility with the launch of our new SL6 production line. As part of this exciting growth, we are building out our team across all three shifts and are looking for skilled talent to support our expanding operation.

The Packaging Lead is responsible for coordinating daily packaging activities to ensure finished products are produced safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established quality standards. This role works closely with the Production Supervisor, Machine Operators, and production employees to coordinate workflow, maintain production schedules, and ensure materials and equipment are available to meet operational needs. Provides day-to-day leadership on assigned production line and serves as a backup to the Production Supervisor. The Packaging Lead provides day-to-day direction to employees while promoting safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and effective communication across the team.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
