Job summary

System One, Inc. is seeking a Packaging Laboratory Technician for an onsite contract role in Princeton, NJ. You will join the laboratory team to support packaging testing, prototype assembly, and data recording for evaluations and shipping studies.

The role emphasizes ISTA/ASTM/TAPPI methods, reading engineering drawings, and collaboration with engineers and chemists. Lifting up to 50 lbs and MS Office proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• BS in science.
• 0-3 years of experience.
• Open to recent grad with good lab experience.
• Experience geared toward packaging.
• ISTA, ASTM, and TAPPI.
• Experience with reading engineering drawings and packaging specifications.
• Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Follow laboratory safety procedures and GDP.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Assemble package prototypes and mockups for testing and evaluation.
• Prepare and organize test samples for evaluations and shipping studies.
• Conduct laboratory testing on packaging components, production and finished goods.
• Accurately record test data and prepare summary reports.
• Assist Packaging Engineers and Chemists with line trials preparation and package qualifications.
• Work cross-functionally to complete functions.
• Work mainly with the engineer on lab-based activities.
