Job summary

Tulsa World is seeking a Packaging Inserter for the night shift. You will tend a machine, inspect inserts, load hoppers, and monitor performance to prepare products for shipment. You will also stack bundles and clean work areas, with other duties as assigned.

The role requires dependability, ability to stand long periods, and willingness to work weekends. Training for pallet jack and hand truck may be provided.

Packaging Inserter

The Tulsa World, a Lee Enterprises company is seeking a Packaging Inserter for the night shift. This position prepares finished products for shipment or materials for storage by tending a machine that performs one or more packaging functions. Duties include inspecting inserts, loading inserts into hoppers, monitoring machine performance, and stacking bundles of papers.

Position Responsibilities

• Feeding inserts into hopper.
• Prepare products for mailings.
• Strip down skids.
• Catching press
• Stacking bundles.
• Clean up work area.
• All other duties, as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Dependability, good communication skills, and willing to be a team player.
• Concentrate on insert alignment and keep adequate levels of product in assigned hoppers.
• Willing and able to work flexible schedules and on the weekends.
• Can be trained to operate: Pallet jack occasionally; hand truck occasionally; band cutters frequently.
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Constant bending, lifting, and extending arms are required.
• Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. from the floor to a height of 5 feet.
