Job summary

Edgewell is seeking an Associate Packaging Engineer to develop promotional, display & e-commerce packaging for personal care brands. You will support innovation, cost-savings, sustainability, and continuity projects as part of cross-functional teams.

The role includes developing and testing packaging components, guiding design for manufacturing, and coordinating with suppliers to meet timelines. Hybrid schedule at Shelton, CT.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Package or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical degree.
• Minimum of 1 year package development experience preferred, ideally with consumer products companies.
• Knowledge of packaging components and properties such as aerosols, pumps, closures, bottles, tubes, films, and paperboard.
• Experience with packaging component suppliers and standard test methods (ASTM, GMPs).
• Organize and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
• Strong aesthetic and innovative design skills.
• Develop and implement schedules; follow engineering procedures.
• Evaluate design concepts and prove feasibility.
• Manage projects; monitor all elements affecting outcomes.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent organizational, prioritizing, problem-solving and follow-up skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned package development projects, working with Brand and project teams to meet objectives and ship dates.
• Hold discussions during product team meetings; communicate technical issues clearly.
• Provide packaging options; develop, engineer, test components to meet requirements and costs.
• Offer technical input to package design and ensure manufacturability with appealing aesthetics.
• Execute new package designs and perform testing and qualification with suppliers from prints to prototypes.
• Collaborate with Package Engineering, Suppliers, and Manufacturing to create timely specifications.
• Stay updated on packaging and manufacturing technologies.
