Job summary

Storm Search LLC is seeking a Packaging Engineering Manager to lead packaging specification processes, data governance, and a team of packaging professionals. This role serves as the technical authority for packaging specifications while ensuring alignment with customer, regulatory, quality, and sustainability requirements.

You will mentor engineers, manage Specright, SAP, and SharePoint, and drive improvements in data accuracy, cost efficiency, and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging/Package Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of packaging experience.
• 2+ years of team leadership or project leadership experience.
• Experience with Specright, SAP, or PMDM.
• Familiarity with e-halo, CAA, and EPR.
• Strong project management, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Less than 25% travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop packaging specification engineers/writers.
• Manage packaging specification systems including Specright, SAP, and SharePoint.
• Oversee packaging specifications, materials, BOMs, dielines, pallet patterns, and supplier data.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, EPR, PFAS/BPA disclosures, and sustainability initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership through packaging development and commercialization.
• Partner with Engineering, R&D, FSQA, Operations, Sourcing, Sales, and Sustainability.
• Drive improvements in data accuracy, cost efficiency, sustainability, and operational performance.
• Support plant trials, audits, and implementation activities.

• Experience with specification/data systems such as Specright, SAP, or PMDM.
• Familiarity with customer/regulatory systems such as e-halo, CAA, and EPR.
• Strong project management, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Less than 25% travel as needed.

Nice to Have

Experience with pilot plants, manufacturing equipment, packaging commercialization, sustainability initiatives, or packaging compliance.
