Job summary

Syngenta Crop Protection in Greensboro, NC invites a Packaging Engineering Co-op to join our Emerging Talent Program. You will support packaging engineers' development, learn across formulation development, purchasing, regulatory affairs, supply chain while managing your own project.

This internship runs January 2027 to June 2027; you will gain hands-on experience with packaging design, testing, cost-reduction initiatives, and involvement with NPI teams on real-world challenges.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Packaging, Packaging Science, or another closely related field of study.
• Must be a current student continuing education upon completion of internship term (graduation date of December 2027 or later).
• Prefer a student with Sophomore or Junior standing.
• Fluent in English. Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or another engineering/science discipline, with practical packaging experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage complete packaging development process including packaging design, prototype development, performance testing and regulatory compliance for agricultural chemical product registration, transportation, storage, and use.
• Provide troubleshooting support to adjacent supply chain functions to ensure a safe, user-friendly customer experience.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives related to packaging materials, labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage.
• Contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI) teams, ensuring all packaging-related milestones are completed on time.
• Demonstrate knowledge of package technologies, materials, and testing related to the development of new packaging components.
• Implement innovative and sustainable packaging solutions that maximize competitive advantage and build brand preference.
