Job summary

David is building a breakout food brand focused on high-protein, low-calorie foods. We are seeking a Packaging Engineer to own day-to-day packaging execution and drive scalable systems across our product portfolio.

In this full-time role in New York, you will partner with co-manufacturers and suppliers, optimize packaging formats, and advance cold-chain and D2C packaging initiatives while shaping cost-efficient, high-quality packaging standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in packaging engineering within CPG, food, or manufacturing.
• Experience with flexible film, folding cartons, and corrugated packaging.
• Familiarity with co-manufacturing environments and how packaging performs on production lines.
• Exposure to packaging equipment (flowwrappers, cartoners) is a plus.
• Experience with structural design tools and strong attention to detail in specifications and version control.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and work cross-functionally with suppliers and internal teams.
• Self-starter comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Interest in growing into a more senior technical or leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Own dieline updates, version control, and packaging specifications.
• Support development and optimization of packaging across formats.
• Coordinate with OEMs and suppliers on packaging performance.
• Assist in D2C and cold chain packaging for perishable products.
• Maintain records of packaging specs and performance data.
