Job summary

Becton, Dickinson is seeking a Packaging Engineer in El Paso, TX to design, develop, validate, and implement packaging systems for medical devices, ensuring product protection, regulatory compliance, and cost effectiveness throughout the lifecycle.

This role collaborates with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain to support NPI, product transfers, changes, and a variety of audits, while leading packaging validation efforts (IQ/OQ/PQ) under 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in packaging, manufacturing, medical device, pharmaceutical, or regulated industries.
• Experience with packaging validation and testing methodologies.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations and quality systems.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging systems for medical device products.
• Evaluate materials, components, and configurations to ensure product protection and performance.
• Support NPI, product transfers, and packaging changes.
• Develop packaging specs, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Lead IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities and regulatory compliance tasks.
• Investigate packaging-related quality issues and drive CAPA.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain.
