Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• 1–3 years of packaging engineering or related engineering experience; regulated industry exposure is a plus.
• Basic understanding of medical device packaging concepts (sterile barrier systems, non-sterile packaging).
• Familiarity with ISO 11607, ISO 13485, and related standards (ASTM/ISTA).
• Foundational knowledge of statistics and data analysis; DOE/Six Sigma a plus.
• Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, CAPE, TOPS) preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication; detail-oriented.
• Ability to document packaging requirements with guidance.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development, and qualification of packaging systems for sterile and non-sterile medical devices under senior guidance.
• Assist with design control activities for low to moderate complexity projects; develop packaging specs and documentation.
• Participate in packaging development projects from concept through verification and transfer; support testing and data analysis.
• Translate product and customer requirements into packaging and process requirements with mentorship.
• Collaborate on cross-functional project teams (R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Supply Chain).
• Execute assigned tasks with ownership; escalate risks or issues as needed.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation such as test protocols, reports, and change control records.
• Support packaging verification and validation activities including sample prep and testing coordination.
