Lancesoft in Lafayette, CO is seeking a Packaging Engineer to drive packaging solutions for medical surgical products, focusing on ISO 11607 and ASTM standards, sustainability, and efficiency.

You will lead validation testing, equipment procurement, and documentation, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across R&D and Project Engineering to keep schedules.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Packaging, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects in cost reductions, identification and procurement of new packaging machinery, and packaging documentation.
  • Perform packaging validation testing and lead material qualifications for packaging changes.
  • Create and update packaging specifications and assist in artwork creation and revisions for product packaging.
  • Operate various testing apparatus and create sterilization and non-sterile pallet patterns for manufacturing locations.
  • Ensure on-time delivery to Project Engineering and R&D schedules and plans.
  • Prepare monthly progress reports on projects and provide work direction to lab technicians as required.
  • Assist in mentoring junior engineers.

  • Prepare packaging validation protocols and reports to support packaging changes per ISO 11607 and ASTM standards.
  • Identify and lead cost reduction opportunities in regards to packaging.
  • Provide technical support and training to manufacturing in regards to packaging systems and machinery.
Education and Experience Required
  • Undergraduate degree in Packaging, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Work Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week, 100% onsite at our Lafayette campus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct review meetings with multiple facilities regarding packaging issues.
  • Provide support to various departments such as R&D regarding packaging issues.
  • Create and update packaging specifications for documentation.

Must Have
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
Nice to Have
  • Specialized knowledge or skills in packaging engineering, lab standards, packaging materials, and sterilization processes.
  • Experience with ISO-11607, design control, root cause analysis/CAPA, 6 Sigma, and Lean principles.
  • Project management skills and effective communication skills with superiors, peers, and subordinates.
  • Ability to plan and document projects effectively and manage multiple ongoing projects.
