ALKU is seeking a Packaging Engineer to support packaging quality and process improvements at a Santa Clara manufacturing site. The role focuses on packaging systems for large-scale industrial equipment and components, and on establishing standardized packaging processes and material specifications.

The ideal candidate will design crate systems and protective packaging for heavy equipment, develop specifications, and collaborate with packaging suppliers.

Formación

• 4–6 years of packaging engineering experience required.
• Crate design and testing experience needed.
• Strong SolidWorks modeling capabilities required.
• Experience designing packaging for heavy or large products.
• Ability to evaluate facility layouts and develop practical packaging workflows.
• Manufacturing or industrial environment experience.
• Willingness to work onsite and support hands-on installation.

Responsabilidades

• Redesign and improve existing industrial crate and shipping systems for better protection and robustness.
• Develop and revise packaging designs and drawings using SolidWorks.
• Design protective packaging solutions for large equipment components and accessories.
• Develop packaging specifications for new solutions.
• Design and support sourcing of shipping supports and protective fixtures.
• Specify corrugated materials, carton sizes, and protective packaging materials.
• Implement updated drawings through the ECO process as required.
• Update packaging work instructions to reflect revised designs and processes.
• Coordinate with packaging suppliers to communicate updated designs, specs, and requirements.
• Develop and implement a standardized packaging process for outgoing shipments.
• Establish internal packaging specifications for materials such as corrugated boxes and protective films.
• Identify further packaging quality and process improvement opportunities.
• Document packaging improvement recommendations and communicate to engineering leadership.
• Prepare test plans, packaging specifications, project logs, and work instructions.
• Provide a complete project documentation package at engagement conclusion.

Our client is seeking a Packaging Engineer to support packaging quality and process improvements at a manufacturing site in Santa Clara. This individual will focus on improving packaging systems for large-scale industrial equipment and associated components, while also establishing standardized packaging processes and material specifications across the site.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing and improving crate systems and protective packaging for large, heavy equipment, along with strong SolidWorks capabilities.

Project:

The contractor will implement a series of packaging improvements identified through a site assessment. The project will include redesigning existing crate systems, developing protective packaging for equipment accessories, establishing packaging material specifications, updating engineering documentation, and coordinating with packaging suppliers to ensure new designs are successfully implemented.

The contractor will also develop standardized packaging processes and specifications that can be applied to future outgoing shipments.

Responsibilities include:

• Redesign and improve existing industrial crate and shipping systems to improve product protection and shipping robustness.
• Develop and revise packaging designs and engineering drawing packages using SolidWorks.
• Design protective packaging solutions for a variety of large equipment components and accessories.
• Develop packaging specifications for newly designed solutions.
• Design and support sourcing of shipping supports and protective fixtures for large mechanical components.
• Specify appropriate corrugated materials, carton sizes, and protective packaging materials for accessory shipments.
• Implement updated engineering drawings through the ECO process where required.
• Update packaging work instructions to reflect revised designs and processes.
• Coordinate with existing packaging suppliers to communicate updated designs, specifications, and packaging requirements.
• Develop and implement a standardized packaging process for outgoing shipments of equipment and accessories.
• Establish internal packaging specifications for materials including:
• Corrugated boxes
• Protective films
• Identify additional packaging quality and process improvement opportunities throughout the engagement.
• Document packaging improvement recommendations and communicate them to the appropriate engineering leadership.

Required Skills:
