Job description

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively within Packagingteam and internal extended functional groups as well as external manufacturing sites and supplier partners. Project meetings are frequent.
• Make recommendations to ensure the product is protected and the package delivers on its form, fit, and function, considering cost, manufacturability, and consumer and customer preferences.
• Apply good design understanding including dimensional interface and tolerances from part drawings and all other aspects of the package through commercialization.
• Have working knowledge of household product compatibility with different materials to determine approach on packaging evaluations and validations and arrange both in-house and/or third-party testing.
• Manage projects related to innovation, productivity, sustainability, quality, e-commerce, and displays and manage detailed documentation.
• Attend External Manufacturing locations for plant trials to validate and troubleshoot packaging when needed.
• Interface via email, calls, Teams chat, or video platform, or in-person with multi-disciplined team such as: EMO Procurement, Project Managers, Procurement, Quality, R&D formulators, Marketing, and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• Packaging degree and CPG/consumer packaged goods experience and record of excellent delivery within career including multiple package commercializations. (Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree also will be considered.)
• Experienced in depth and breadth of package development, testing, materials, components, molding/forming, sealing, assembly, print technologies, document management, commercialization, troubleshooting, tool development, and more.
• Knowledgeable of manufacturing environments as related to component storage, handling, package filling, capping, sealing, labeling, coding, assembly, packing, palletizing, transit, etc., ensuring a comprehensive view is considered during validations.
