Lifeway Foods, Inc. is seeking a reliable Packager/Packer on first shift to support production and ensure proper packaging before shipping. You will work with the team to assemble, seal, and palletize boxes while adhering to GMP and safety rules.

No prior experience is required; candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on their feet for the full shift, typically 7:00am to finish, with potential Saturday work.

Responsabilidades

• Check package integrity, seals, price, date code, tape color, and product quality.
• Pack product by assembling boxes, unloading from conveyor, taping, and placing on skid.
• Maintain GMP/SSOP safety procedures and label boxes with brand info.
• Stack cases on skids according to pallet patterns.
• Notify machine operators of issues according to standard procedures.
• Label side of boxes with brand name, quantity, weight, and product type.
• Communicate with other departments to avoid production disruption.
• Follow SOP, GMP, and general safety policies.
• Assist with additional duties as assigned.

Job Summary:

The Packager/Packer is responsible for ensuring that everything is in order prior to shipping and supports production and sanitary procedures.

Schedule: First shift

Monday through Friday 7:00am - finish production (including occasional Saturday's)

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ensures product protection by checking package integrity for good seals, proper price, code date, tape color, and product quality according to standard procedures.
• Works in a team to pack product by assembling boxes, taking product off conveyor line, taping boxes, and placing on skid, and pull sealed cases off automated packaging lines
• Ensures the product is free from contamination by following rules of good manufacturing practices for disease control, personal practices, and uniform policy
• Stack sealed cases on skids according to staking procedures under pallet pattern
• Recognizes problems, alerts machine operator/mechanics according to standard procedures
• Prepares cases for use on the next shift by labeling information on the side of the box to include brand name, quantity, weight, and product type
• Maintains communication with other departments, employees, and management to notify them of any issues that may restrict the efficiency of production
• Follows SOP, SSOP, GMP, and general safety policies
• Additional Duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to calculate basic math and read
• Ability to actively listen to instructions and understand basic English

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• No experience necessary

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Ability to be on your feet for an 8-hour shift
• Ability to climb on ladders and maneuver through equipment
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
